Treating a disease in its earliest stages can be relatively easy and there is a greater chance of full recovery. Therefore, early non-invasive diagnosis is the foremost aim of our research programs. At present, the department is pursuing research activities in the thrust areas like diabetes, kidney diseases, neurobiology and, pregnancy related disorders such as preeclampsia. The department is well-equipped with high end facilities for quality research including confocal microscope, microarray system, bioanalyzer and individually ventilated rodent-cages etc.
Our first published report (in 2013) was on the usefulness of biological-nanovesicles for predicting kidney injury.
The department also acts as a resource centre for translational research programs (HRD ministry) to meet the dynamic nature of modern medicine.
